Material Choice – High-Performance Laminated Phenolic
We’ve selected a high-strength laminated phenolic material with integrated gaskets for superior performance. This choice ensures that the spacers won’t deform when torqued to spec, even when the engine reaches operating temperature. It also guarantees consistent dimensions, allowing us to precisely calculate and optimize airflow. The integrated gasket layers are designed for compression without disrupting airflow, enhancing overall engine performance.
Thermal Shields & Cylinder Head to Manifold Spacers
We’ve designed custom thermal shields from scratch to optimize thermal insulation, taking into account the 90° bank angle of the engine. A common concern with thermal spacers is that they can interrupt flow due to the step or hump created in the runners. We conducted advanced computer simulations to avoid this, ensuring that flow and resonance pulsations are maintained.
The result is a flush-fitting thermal shield molded to the cylinder head casting, not just a thicker alternative to the stock gasket design. This approach minimizes heat soak, improving thermal insulation without sacrificing airflow efficiency.
Plenum Spacer – Enhanced Airflow & Performance
The plenum spacer increases the plenum volume by 9%, optimizing airflow for high RPM performance, particularly beneficial for cars with free-flowing exhausts and larger throttle bodies. This upgrade is especially advantageous for the C32B 3.2L engines, which retain the smaller 3.0L plenum volume from the factory.
In addition to increasing plenum volume, the spacer acts as an auxiliary thermal insulator, isolating heat soak by creating a partition between the upper and lower manifold. You can choose to enlarge either the lower or upper plenum chamber, depending on your tuning preferences and desired performance.
