- Retaining the Factory Forging:
- The service begins with inspecting and selecting a suitable control arm forging (the alloy part) from the vehicle. The forging is carefully retained and all other worn-out components are replaced with upgraded parts.
- Component Replacement:
- Ball Joints: The original ball joints are replaced with CNC-machined units made to significantly higher tolerances than the factory originals. This improves precision, reduces play, and ensures long-lasting durability. The new ball joints are designed for better serviceability, featuring a locking hex portion for easy maintenance, unlike the original internal hex keys which tend to strip over time.
- Bushings: The original bushings are replaced with solid rubber bushings mounted in galvanized steel sleeves. This modification eliminates the issues caused by factory hollow or fluid-filled bushings, which tend to degrade over time and cause sagging. Our solid rubber bushes offer improved handling, better response, and increased longevity.
- Surface Preparation & Treatment:
- The alloy casting/forging is thoroughly blasted and treated to remove any corrosion, contaminants, and to prepare it for reassembly. This ensures a clean, smooth surface that will improve the longevity of the rebuild and help prevent further corrosion or damage.
